Canisius (0-3, 0-2 MAAC)
The Griffs were idle this weekend ... They host La Salle this coming Saturday at 1:30 pm ... The two teams last met in Buffalo during the 1941 season ... La Salle won that game 7-0.

Duquesne (4-1, 3-0 MAAC)
The Dukes had their eight-game win streak snapped at Bucknell, 35-14 ... That win streak was the third-longest in Division I-AA this season ... Duquesne continues to standout with its past defense ... For the 10th straight game the Dukes picked off a pass ... So far this season Duquesne has picked off 10 passes and surrendered just one touchdown pass ... Defensive back Leigh Boden made seven tackles, broke up three passes and intercepted his fifth pass of the season ... He also scored Duquesnes first touchdown with a 40-yard fumble recovery and return ... He also made his offensive debut, catching one pass for 11 yards ... Josh Rue also saw action on both sides of the ball (Fullback/Defensive End) ... He had two carries and a sack ... Middle linebacker Jim Antinopoulos recorded a season-high 19 tackles ... four of those tackles were for a loss of eight yards ... Fellow linebacker Trent Wissner added 16 tackles ... The Bucknell game marked just the third time during quarterback Tony Zimmermans 27-game Duquesne career that the Dukes failed to score at least 20 points ... The Dukes are idle this coming weekend.

Fairfield (1-2, 1-1 MAAC)
The Stags won their first game of the 2000 campaign in grand fashion ... Fairfield used a 55-7 win over Iona to move into the win column ... The Stags racked up a school-record 628 yards of total offense, the second highest total in MAAC history ... A major reason for that yardage total was the play of sophomore quarterback Mike Cerchio (See Offensive Player of the Week), who passed for a Fairfield-record 384 yards ... Cerchio also rushed for 27 yards, giving him 411 yards of total offense on the afternoon, the fourth highest total in MAAC history ... He passed for three scores ... Fairfield also got the nod for Defensive Player of the Week after senior Steve Dogmanits picked off a school-record three passes and spearheaded a defensive charge that held Iona to seven points ... The Gaels entered the game averaging 35 points per game ... Tight end Jason Cowley made seven catches for 152 yards and a touchdown ... He was just seven yards short of the school record ... The Stags displayed the ability to strike quick and often as they put together five scoring drives of less than two minutes ... Sophomore Matt Manzione scored the final three Fairfield touchdowns on the ground, tying the school record for rushing TDs in a game ... He also had a touchdown negated due to penalty ... Fairfield travels to Siena this weekend for a 2:00 pm kickoff.

Iona (2-2, 1-2 MAAC)
The Gaels fell to 2-2 overall and 1-2 in MAAC play with a 55-7 loss at Fairfield ... Iona is now 0-5 against Fairfield since the Stags reinstated its program in 1996 ... Senior Ralph Saldiveri continues to run wild ... He picked up 140 yards on 23 carries against the Stags and scored on a 62-yard sprint ... Through four games this season, Saldiveri has accumulated 698 rushing yards and scored seven touchdowns ... During his career, he now has 3,666 yards and 33 touchdowns ... Iona hosts St. Peters this Saturday at 1:00 pm in its annual homecoming game.

La Salle (4-1, 2-1 MAAC)
The Explorers improved to 4-1 overall with a 35-10 win at Catholic University, Saturday ... La Salle is now 4-1 for the first time since reinstating the program in 1997 ... The Explorers are now 3-0 on the road this season ... Coach Bill Manlove received a huge performance from junior tailback Brian Small ... Small had a hand in four of the Explorers five touchdowns ... He scored on a 16-yard rush and caught two touchdown passes from 17 and 22 yards out and capped his afternoon by throwing a 61-yard touchdown pass to wideout Raymond Santiago ... He rushed 19 times for 120 yards and caught three passes for 37 more yards ... Quarterback Mike Bramowski completed nine of 15 passes, including two touchdowns ... The defense was anchored by senior linebacker Tim Connelly, who registered a team-high 12 tackles ... Senior Kevin Campbell made nine stops ... The Explorers will look to make it four in a row, Saturday, when they travel to Canisius for a 1:30 pm contest.

Marist (2-2, 1-1 MAAC)
The Red Foxes improved to 2-2 overall with a thrilling 34-31, come-from-behind, win at Wagner ... The victory was head coach Jim Paradys 50th of his Marist coaching career ... Senior wide receiver Sean Stellato caught a 19-yard touchdown pass with :45 remaining to lift Marist to the road win ... Stellato caught two passes (both touchdowns) for 39 yards ... Senior defensive tackle Tom Lennon sealed the win as he sacked the Wagner quarterback with time running out, as Wagner was driving for a tying field goal ... Backup quarterback John Cornelisusen orchestrated the comeback as he took over for starter Kevin Chartrand (separated shoulder) in the second quarter ... Cornelisusen completed seven of 10 pass attempts for 129 yards and both TD passes to Stellato ... Sophomore runningback Alfredo Riullano ran for 60 yards against Wagner and owns 356 yards through four games this season ... The Red Foxes will enjoy another bye week this weekend before returning to the friendly confines of Leonidoff Field this weekend as they host Iona for homecoming, October 14.

St. Peters (3-1, 2-1 MAAC)
The Peacocks improved to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in MAAC play with a 23-13 win over Siena, Saturday evening ... It was St. Peters third straight victory, marking the first time since 1992 that SPC had won three straight games ... They have already tied the program record for most wins at the Division I-AA level ... The two MAAC wins also equals the most in program history (1996) ... St. Peters has shown a strong nose for the ball this season ... They forced eight turnovers against Siena, five fumbles and three interceptions ... Freshman defensive end Michael Quarshie, who has already earned MAAC Defensive Player of the Week and MAAC Rookie of the Week, was relatively quiet by his lofty standards but did force two fumbles on both of his tackles ... Freshman linebacker Jon Wasielewski (See MAAC Rookie of the Week) was all over the field, recording a game-high 11 tackles and recording an interception ... Two members of St. Peters strong sophomore class also had solid games ... Jon Ambrose, a defensive back, recovered a fumble and made two interceptions ... he also broke up two passes ... Halfback Kevin Miles led all rushers with 73 yards on 21 carries ... He also scored the games first touchdown ... St. Peters will attempt to do what only one other team (1975) in SPC history has done, win four straight games, Saturday when they travel to Iona for a 1:00 pm tilt.

Siena (0-4, 0-2 MAAC)
The Saints fell to 0-4 overall and 0-2 in MAAC play with a 23-13 loss at St. Peters ... For the second consecutive week Siena out-gained the opposition but it wasnt enough to overcome eight costly turnovers ... Siena has rushed for 649 yards in four games and have held the opposition to around 250 yards of offense per game, but remain winless ... Senior defensive lineman Chris Trumbull had nine tackles and two sacks against St. Peters ... Freshman runningback Julian Brown continues to impress ... He gained 48 yards on 14 carries and scored on a three-yard jaunt ... The Saints will look to get on the winning track Saturday when they play host to Fairfield at 2:00 pm.
